Beaver Baseball

I went grocery shopping yesterday and had an excellent meal planned--the chicken was marinating with lemon, corn on the cob, fresh green beans, and chocolate cupcakes for dessert.  But when Al got up from his nap he told me 'The Beavers are playing tonight' and that plan went out the window (or actually, into the fridge).

We had said all summer that we should go to a game sometime while we were downtown, and boy, summer is winding down.  AND after last night, there are only THREE more Beaver baseball games at PGE Park, EVER! So, it was without question that once it was brought up, we were going!  And besides that, there was to be fireworks after the game.

I wish I could say it was a good game, but we did have a good time.  We had seats at my favorite place--the 3rd base line.

We saw lots of action there, wish there was more BEAVER action, we lost 9-2.

Here's the scoreboard, early in the game, while the stats still looked promising:

Well, what to do next?  Presently we are at our favorite coffee shop, Bean and Tree, for a farewell latte.  We will be pulling away from the dock within the next couple of hours.  As Al quotes from another cruising blogger 'If you don't want to spend money, stay away from the city!'  I am down to $8 cash in my wallet.  I think we will just move on to where I can save that, just for a few more days...
